A repair guide that starts with the test, not the tool

Supperman is a set of illustrated repair guides for the faults that actually happen — the doorbell that stops ringing, the tap that drips, the towel that will not absorb. Each guide treats one fault and ends with a repair you can do yourself.

Why most guides fail you

The first sentence of a typical tutorial is already wrong. They tell you to tighten the slip nut to stop a leak — but a slip nut only clamps, it does not seal; the washer does. They tell you the set screw holds the handle in place — it only applies pressure, it does not locate. Following those instructions makes the problem worse, slowly.

So every guide here starts differently: with one test that separates the possible causes. Drop dye in the tank and you split two faults that point in opposite directions. Press the button with your ear against the chime box and you know whether current arrives. The test is usually free, needs no tools, and takes under a minute.

How the diagrams are made

Every drawing is vector art built for this site — a machine in section, with the moving parts and the fault highlighted. Nothing is a stock photo, and nothing is decorative: if a part is drawn, it is there because it matters to the diagnosis.

Languages

Every guide exists in English, French, Spanish and Chinese. These are not machine translations of one master text; each language was written to read naturally, which is why a title may be phrased differently between them.
